The Pride Rock

The Pride Rock painting I did for the 30 days drawing challenge which I am actually proud of. This turned out exceptionally well. It's a shame I re-wrote the small size on the big one. I'm such an idiot.

Day 12 - Most Recent Accomplishment

Last friday, I went to Starbucks to have a coffee and rest a little bit. Like I’ve told you before, I try to sketch the places I go, so I took my sketchbook out and drew the place. Then a worker came by and told me the drawing was so good and asked if he could have it so he can hang it on the board there. It was the first time someone came to me and told me my drawing was good. Thank you, Starbucks guy. You really made my day.

Challenge Update!

Day 11 - Turning Point in Your Life

Entering University, really. After years and years spent on science lessons, suddenly I realised I can’t live without drawing and I found myself majoring Graphic Arts. It was sudden, but now I can’t even think myself somewhere else. Actually, I really started to live after I’ve entered the university since I’ve moved out from my over-protective parents so I finally started to learn about myself and the world.

I’ve been listening to Scott Pilgrim vs. The World : The Game soundtrack for two days so It’s kinda 8-bit stuff. I’m having fun of it, really :D

Day 10 - Favourite Candy

I’m not so good with candies, but I totally love watermelon chewing gums!

And that's a fast sketch I did when I was sitting with friends, I was trying different outfits for Mydia. Don't mind her weird anatomy. I couldn't fit the sketchbook in the scanner so it looks weird.

Day 4 - Favourite Place

Well, it was kind of hard to decide, since I have no particular place to call “favourite”. Anywhere could be favourite to me, since I have my precious friends with me. Really, anywhere can be pretty with them.

So I went with somewhere I loved and missed. It’s our old vacation house, somewhere around Aegan Sea, next to the shore with lots of olive trees around. I loved the place, I loved my room in the attic, I loved the terrace. I used to go up there, light some candles and watch the stars and the sea all night, until the first lights of the sun. I remember we climbed to the roofs to get to each others’ terraces to spend the night together.

Too bad we had to sell the place. I loved it there. I remember getting goddamn angry when my parents decided to sell it.

Bugünkü konumuz "en sevdiğimiz yer" idi.

Karar vermesi güç oldu, çünkü tam olarak "en sevdiğim" olarak adlandırabileceğim bir yerim yok. Her yer "en sevdiğim" olabilir, tabii arkadaşlarım yanımda olduğu sürece. Onlarla her yer güzel ♥

Bu yüzden ben de çok sevdiğim ve özlediğim bir yer üzerine karar verdim. Ve işte, eski yazlık evimiz, Ege'de bir yerlerde (Ayvalık civarıydı hatta), kıyıda, zeytin ağaçlarının ortasında bir yer. Orayı çok severdim, tavan arasındaki odamı, terası çok severdim. Geceleri terasa çıkıp, birkaç mum yakıp günün ilk ışıklarına kadar yıldızları ve denizi seyrederdim. Bazen yan evdeki arkadaşlarımla çatıya tırmanıp birbirlerimizin odasına geçtiğimizi hatırlıyorum, geceyi beraber geçirmek için.

Satmak zorunda kalmamız çok kötü. Satılalı yıllar oldu. Annemler satmaya karar verdiklerinde çok sinirlenmiştim.

Day 3 - Favourite Food

Waffles, really. They’re like heaven to me. Fruits, chocolate and sometimes, ice-cream. Oh God…

30 Days Drawing Challenge

Since I'm trying to draw nearly every day, I have decided to do this. Not every single day maybe, but as often as I can.
